Baltimore Blooms Supply List


Equipment and Notions:

  • Kit Fee: $15 or $45 (Payable in class. For virtual workshops, purchase the kit here.) **

  • Ruler

  • Paper and fabric scissors

  • Embroidery scissors (optional)

  • Basting needle (an embroidery needle works well)

  • Appliqué needle (straw needles size 11, Foxglove Cottage recommended) *

  • Embroidery needle

  • black or navy silk thread (YLI 100 weight) *

  • beige silk thread (YLI 100 weight) *

  • red cotton thread

  • dark yellow or gold cotton thread

  • Basting thread (any thread that you want to get rid of)

  • Marking pen (black Pigma® pen size 01 or 02 recommended)

  • pencil

  • Tweezers (optional)

  • Clover Mini Iron (optional but recommended)

** Both the $15 class kit and the $45 complete kit are perfect for the workshop. If you would like to purchase the complete kit, please let Jaimie know in advance which color you would like. All 3 colors can be viewed on the shop page.

Each Complete Kit Includes:

  • Baltimore Blooms Pattern

  • Instruction Booklet

  • All fabric necessary to complete the quilt with exception of batting and backing

  • 2 stems 13” long Prepared with steam-a-seam tape

  • Six 1"x 40” strips prepared for ruching

  • Six 1"x 8” strips prepared for ruching

  • Leaf template

  • Freezer paper 6”x17”

  • 4 yards total of embroidery floss in dark green or light green and brown

Each Class Kit Includes:  

  • Baltimore Blooms Pattern

  • Instruction Booklet

  • One 10" square of fabric for background

  • One 3” x 6" square of green fabric for leaves

  • 2 stems 13” long Prepared with steam-a-seam tape

  • One 1"x 36” strip prepared for ruching

  • One 1"x 8” strip prepared for ruching

  • Leaf template

  • Freezer paper 6”x6”

  • 1 yard of embroidery floss in green or brown

  • A sample of YLI silk thread

  • One Jeana Kimball straw needle size 11

Additional Supplies to Finish the Quilt(if you purchase the Class Kit):

  • Five 1” x 44” strips of fabric cut on the straight of grain for roses

  • Five 1” x 8” strips of fabric cut on the straight of grain

  • Four or more green scraps of fabric measuring at least 6” x 6” for leaves

  • Embroidery floss in various shades of green and brown

  • Clover® bias tape maker ½”

Guild Provides:

  • 1 table for teacher’s use

  • 3-4 irons and ironing stations

  • Electrical cords and extensions, multiple-outlet strip, adaptors, lighting (if necessary)

  • 1 table for every two students
